DICK VAN DYKE – 100TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
Hosted by Arlene Van Dyke and Stu Shostak. With special guests Matt Von Roderick (trumpet), Marquis Howell (upright bass) and multi-Grammy Award-winner Jon Batiste.
A private concert event in Malibu, CA, to celebrate Dick Van Dyke’s 100th Birthday. Production challenges included building a weather-resistant party tent and a dance floor (for roller skating) over a 10-foot-deep pool, extending the event footprint (subfloor and dance floor) evenly over hilly backyard terrain, catering for 150 family and celebrity guests, setting up audio and video for a live band presentation and a visual display for screening a documentary feature. Guests were shuttled to private location from public parking lot.
